Matekite/Tohunga - Wiremu Niania - Co-author of Award winning book, Collaborative and Indigenous Mental Health Therapy - Tataihono: Stories of Maori healing in Psychiatry, and his wife, Lesley Niania, (Mahi Wairua lead Trainor) facilitate this interactive workshop / wananga.

  • Background / Tohunga Suppression and its impact
  • Nga Kete Wananga and how they work in hauora and in whanau
  • Defining Wairua and its role in Nga Kete wananga and today's changing society
  • How is intergenerational trauma addressed through a Wairua lead approach
  • Whakawetewete restoration of tapu

Who is this wananga for?

This wananga is designed for professionals of all ethnicities and beliefs concerned with the health and wellbeing of their whanau and / or those in their communities seeking wellness utilising a Te Ao Maori framework based on the ancient teachings of Te Whare Wananga.

Course Fee
